This course introduces you to the Positive Youth Development (PYD) framework, a strengths-based approach used by top educators and youth organizations worldwide. You’ll learn how to shift your facilitation lens from fixing problems to cultivating potential, and from directing youth to partnering with them in their growth. Learning Outcomes By the end of this course, participants will be able to: 1. Explain the principles of Positive Youth Development and apply the 6Cs model. 2. Create safe, inclusive environments where all youth feel seen, respected, and valued. 3. Facilitate discussions and activities using active listening, curiosity, and empathy. 4. Guide reflection and peer learning to deepen understanding and connection. 5. Adapt facilitation to either faith-integrated or secular contexts without losing authenticity. 6. Lead with both structure and heart, cultivating trust and belonging in every circle. Who Is This Course For? This course is designed for anyone who works with or supports youth, including: • Youth program coordinators and volunteers • Educators and afterschool staff • Faith-based youth leaders (masjids, churches, temples) • Nonprofit and community educators • College students studying youth work or social sciences No prior training required — just a desire to help young people flourish.
